Girls stripped for menstruation check after finding blood stains in school bathroom

MUMBAI: The principal subjected the students to a menstruation checkup after finding blood stains in the bathroom of the school. The shocking incident happened on Tuesday at the R S Dhamani School in Thane, Maharashtra. The students from class 5 to 10 were subjected to the test. The children were taken to the bathroom and made to strip to examine them.

Housekeeping staff told media that the principal summoned the students to the school hall and showed them pictures of the blood stains in the toilet. It is reported that the female peon even asked the students to remove their underwear for examination as per the request of the principal. The incident came to light when the children told their families about the incident.


The parents then arrived at the school on Wednesday. The parents demanded that a case be filed against the principal and others. Police said that a POCSO case has been registered against six including the school principal, a peon, two teachers and two school trustees, in the incident. The police have arrested the principal and the peon. The police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
