NEW DELHI: The central government has formed a high-powered panel to investigate the Air India crash. The panel will complete the investigation and submit its report within three months. The cause of the plane crash will be probed. The committee will also direct what should be done to avoid such accidents in future. The committee is headed by the union home secretary.

The black box of the plane was found earlier. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau found the black box 28 hours after the accident. The black box will be examined at the DGCA's forensic science lab. The results of this will be crucial to find the cause of the accident.

Meantime, the search is still ongoing among the plane debris. Six identified bodies have been handed over to their relatives so far. The procedures for identifying the other bodies are in progress. The hospital authorities also said that the bodies will be handed over to the relatives once the DNA test results are received.
