BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered a case against BJP minister Vijay Shah for making derogatory remarks against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The High Court has directed the state police chief to file a case against the minister.

Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah had made derogatory remarks against Colonel Sophia Qureshi the other day. Vijay Shah had called Sophia Qureshi the 'sister of terrorists' in a public event. "Those people (terrorists) who had wiped out the sindoor (vermilion) of our sisters (in the Pahalgam terrorist attack), we avenged them by sending their sister to destroy these 'kate pite' people," the minister said in a public event at Ramkunda village near Indore. Minister Vijay Shah had apologised after this remark became controversial.

Colonel Sophia Qureshi got noticed through the press conferences held by the Ministry of Defence and External Affairs as part of Operation Sindoor. Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh were assigned to explain Operation Sindoor. Both of them had attended the press conferences many times.
