IAF hero’s daughter vows to join forces, avenge father’s death

JAIPUR: Tributes were paid to soldier Surendra Kumar Moga, who was killed in Pakistan’s drone attack in Udhampur. Thousands paid homage to the departed soul. In the meanwhile, Surendra Kumar's eleven-year-old daughter Vartika's words were painful for everyone. Vartika said that her father died for the country while facing the enemies and that she would also join the army and avenge her father's death by eliminating enemies. It is reported that Surendra Kumar had spoken to Vartika on the phone moments before his death.


Surendra Kumar was a medical assistant in the Air Force. He was on duty at the medical dispensary at the air base in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, when Pakistan carried out the drone attack. Surendra Kumar was seriously injured in the drone attack by Pakistan on Saturday. He died yesterday while undergoing treatment.


Surendra Kumar hails from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Barwa and leader of opposition Tikaram Julie paid their last respects to him. Surendra Kumar's wife Seema's tears filled the hearts of those present. His youngest son Daksh (7) performed the last rites. Surendra Kumar was called to Udhampur from Bengaluru just five days ago. He had been serving in the Air Force for the past 14 years.
