
NEW DELHI: IndiGo has resumed flight operations. The airline has announced that it is aiming to operate up to 1650 flights today. It operated more than 1500 flights yesterday. IndiGo also stated that it hopes to fully resume normal services by December 10.
'Today, December 7 we are on track to operate over 1650 flights, up from ~1500 yesterday. On Time performance 75%, up from ~ 30% yesterday. Refund and Luggage process in full action, both for direct bookings and indirect bookings' -IndiGo officials announced.
Officials said that the Civil Aviation Ministry is taking steps to resolve the travel disruptions caused by IndiGo. IndiGo operated only 706 flights on Friday. On Saturday, it increased to 1565. IndiGo claims that it will be able to operate around 1650 flights on Sunday. IndiGo operates around 2300 flights daily.
IndiGo has also refunded Rs 610 crore to passengers after the service was disrupted. IndiGo accelerated the refund process after the central government gave a final directive. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said that a total of Rs 610 crore has been refunded to passengers so far and about 3,000 pieces of luggage have been returned to their owners.
