NEW DELHI: Reports suggest that actor Vijay, the president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, may be named as an accused in the case related to the Karur stampede tragedy. The CBI will file its charge sheet in the case by the second week of February. Vijay has been summoned to the CBI headquarters in Delhi for a second round of questioning.

Sources also indicate that two senior Tamil Nadu police officers, including an ADGP, may be named as accused in the case along with Vijay. They are likely to be booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. During the first round of questioning held on January 12, the CBI had asked Vijay around 90 questions. He has now been called again to clarify certain points raised during that interrogation.
