luck

BHOPAL: In a difference of a few days, a farmer got items worth Rs 25 lakh in the market from land. When you hear 'farmer', don't misunderstand that luck came from farming. Deshraj, a native of Gaureya Kakarrahati village in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh, got two diamond stones from a shallow mine land. While the first stone was a 1.35 carat diamond, the second stone found days later was worth 6.65 carats.

One can understand the extent to which the goddess of luck has blessed the farmer only when they know that the market value of the former is close to five lakhs and the latter is above 20 lakhs. Panna district of Madhya Pradesh is famous for diamond mines. There are a large number of people working in this field.

Two years ago, Pratap Singh Yadav, another farmer, had received a diamond worth 11.88 carats from the Patti area. The price of the stone Prathap got was 50 lakhs in the market at that time. The diamond obtained from the mine was deposited by Pratap Singh in the Diamond Office. The amount remaining after deducting the government's royalties and taxes will be paid to the person who found the diamond.

Panna district is located at a distance of 380 km from Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. Despite having diamond mines, Panna is one of the poorest districts in Madhya Pradesh. Panna is ranked 41st out of 45 districts in the state in Human Development Index. Diamond deposits are located in a belt about 80 km wide including the town of Panna.
