THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a big relief from scorching heat, light to moderate rains lashed in several parts of the state on Wednesday. The Indian Meteorological Department assessed that rain with thunderstorms is likely in isolated parts of the district. The scattered rains and thundershowers will last for another four days in the state.

Kochi, Punalur, and Thiruvananthapuram have received decent rainfall in the pre-monsoon period. The trend will continue in the coming days too, with the capital city already witnessing dark cloud formation and light rains.

It is reported that rain with thundershower is ongoing in the neighbouring region of Nagercoil, just 73 km from the capital. IMD predicts that the pre-monsoon period will continue with lighter rains till the end of this month in the state.
