Lover rapes, kills two-and-a half-year-old daughter in front of mother

MUMBAI: A woman and her lover have been arrested in the case of raping and murdering her two-and-a half-years-old daughter. The incident happened at Malwani in Mumbai. Police said the child was sexually abused in the presence of her mother (30) by her lover aged 19. The incident came to light when the child was taken to the hospital on Sunday claiming that she had an epileptic attack following which she had stopped breathing.

The doctor who examined her noticed injuries on her private parts and the authorities immediately informed the police. The girl’s parents got divorced three years ago. The girl was taken to the hospital in Jankalyan Nagar in Malwani.

The doctor who examined her declared her dead. The body was sent for postmortem and the report confirmed that she had been raped and died due to asphyxia. Soon her mother and lover were taken into custody. The two confessed to the crime during interrogation. They were arrested under POCSO and charges of murder. The woman was in a relationship with the 19-year-old for the past two years.
