Major security lapse at Bengaluru airport; Youth attacks taxi drivers with machete

BENGALURU: A major security breach took place at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. A youth brandished a machete following a feud between taxi drivers near the VVIP pickup point in Terminal 1. Two taxi drivers were injured in the incident.

The attacker ran into the VVIP area with a machete. Later, the security personnel subdued him and handed him over to the police.

Taxi driver Suhail Ahmed was arrested in the case. The accused is a native of Jayanagar. The incident took place on Sunday at midnight. CCTV footage of the incident is out. It is reported that the attack was carried out in retaliation for an earlier dispute.
