Man arrested for sexually assaulting lady doctor by posing as army officer

NEW DELHI: A man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a lady doctor by posing as an army officer. The arrested man has been identified as Aryan, a native of Chhatarpur in Delhi.

According to police, the accused, who worked as a delivery agent, befriended the woman doctor on Instagram by pretending to be a soldier. After becoming close, the two exchanged phone numbers and started chatting on WhatsApp. Aryan reportedly told the doctor that he was serving in Jammu and Kashmir as part of the Indian Army. He also sent her photos of himself wearing a military uniform.

In early October, Aryan visited the doctor’s home in Masjid Moth, Delhi. During the meeting, he allegedly spiked her food with drugs and then sexually assaulted her.

After regaining consciousness, the doctor filed a complaint at the nearby police station on October 16, stating that she had been raped. Following her complaint, police launched an investigation and conducted raids at several locations in Chhatarpur before arresting the accused. During interrogation, Aryan reportedly confessed that he had bought an army uniform from a shop to deceive the doctor.
