Mia Khalifa's picture on temple festival flex board; police swing into action

CHENNAI: A controversy has erupted over the use of former adult movie star Mia Khalifa's picture in a flex board erected in connection with the festival at a temple in Kancheepuram district in Tamil Nadu. The flex board was put up in connection with the Aadi festival at Nagathamman and Selliamman temples in Kuruvimala. The hoardings were erected along with the festive lights in the temples.

Thousands of people from various villages used to take part in the festival. The uproar started when Mia Khalifa's image appeared on the flex board alongside images of several gods. The former adult film star is seen on the flex board holding a bowl of milk on her head.

The flex board also featured the photos of those who erected the hoarding. The police removed the flex board soon after the pictures of the flex board went viral on social media.
