Malayali couple flees with 100 crores from chit fund in Bengaluru, victims are mostly Malayalees

BENGALURU: An investigation is on for the Malayali couple who fled with crores from the chit fund they ran in Ramamurthy Nagar. The victims of the fraud have filed a complaint against A V Tommy and his wife Shiny of Ramankara in Alappuzha, who were running A&A Chit Fund and Finance in Ramamurthy Nagar. It is reported that the couple fled with almost Rs 100 crore.

Tommy and Shiny went missing since last Wednesday. The Ramamurthy Nagar police have registered a case against the two. The couple went missing after selling their house and vehicle and switching off their phones. Although their office is functioning, the employees there have no clue about the two.

One from Ramamurthy Nagar had first filed a complaint against them. The complaint filed said that he and his wife had invested Rs 70 lakh, the amount they got as retirement benefits, in the chit fund and are not getting it now. The company, which has been operating in the area for the past 25 years, has many Malayali investors. Many Malayalees have been deceived.
