Miraculous escape: Vishwaskumar walks out of crashed plane, video goes viral

NEW DELHI: Days after the devastating Ahmedabad plane crash that claimed 241 lives, a newly surfaced video is drawing attention online. The footage captures Vishwaskumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the tragedy, moments after he escaped the wreckage.

In the video, Vishwaskumar—already identified as the only passenger to survive among the 242 on board—is seen wearing a white T-shirt and holding a mobile phone in his left hand as he walks away from the crash site. Locals can be seen rushing toward him before escorting him to safety and getting him medical attention.

Vishwaskumar, a British citizen, was seated in 11A and managed to escape through an emergency exit after the aircraft went down just 30 seconds after takeoff, according to his earlier statement. He sustained injuries to his face, chest, and legs, and is currently recovering at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad.

He had been travelling with his brother, Ajaykumar Ramesh, as the two were returning to the UK after visiting family in India. Vishwaskumar has lived in London for the past 20 years. The newly released video has offered a rare and haunting glimpse into the immediate aftermath of one of India’s most tragic aviation disasters.
