NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency conducted raids in various areas of Kashmir following reports of terrorism slowly gaining a foothold back in the valley. Officials said that raids were conducted in 32 places including Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Baramulla and Kupwara districts. Checks and action have been intensified against those supporting and aiding various terrorist organizations.
The NIA conducted the search operation with the help of Jammu and Kashmir police and paramilitary forces. There has been no official confirmation of the arrests, but the NIA's actions are reportedly covert, part of an effort to dismantle terror networks and prevent future attacks similar to the dastardly one at Pahalgam.
