BENGALURU: Two phones were seized from JDS MP Prajwal Revanna, who was arrested in a sexual abuse case. However, reports said the sexual abuse clippings were not captured from these two phones. The police suspect that the phone that captured the visuals was destroyed.

If the investigation proves that the phone was destroyed, Prajwal will also be charged with tampering with evidence. All the travel documents including Prajwal's passport have been seized by the investigating officers. Prajwal will be produced in the court after medical examination.

The court is likely to consider Prajwal's bail plea today. Prajwal Revanna, who arrived at Bangalore's Kempagowda airport from Munich in Germany, was taken into custody last night by the special investigation team.

A large contingent of police was deployed at the airport suspecting a possibility of untoward incidents. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Sivakumar also had a meeting with the investigating team earlier.

Prajwal had sent a video to the special investigation officers saying that he will reach Bangalore on May 31st and surrender. The decision followed a move by the ministry of external affairs to cancel diplomatic passport.

Prajwal also apologized for going abroad without telling his parents through a video message. He is suffering from depression. Foreign travel was pre-arranged. After reaching Germany, he came to know that a case has been registered against him. He also explained in the video that he had asked seven days to appear.

Prajwal fled to Germany after the sexual assault videos sparked a huge controversy. Meanwhile, approached the court for anticipatory bail. A Special People's Court in Bengaluru refused to hear the case urgently. Prajwal returned after 34 days. The state government, former prime minister and Prajwal's grandfather H D Deve Gowda also came forward against Prajwal.

Meantime, the Ministry of External Affairs announced that the process has been initiated to cancel Prajwal's diplomatic passport. A show cause notice was issued for this. Explanation should be given within 10 days.
