BENGALURU: The first glimpse of CCTV visuals assumed to be that of the main suspect involved in the Rameshwaram café blast was released on Saturday. The stranger is seen wearing a hat and also covers his face with a mask. The police said that the accused left his bag in the cafe before the blast. Another person seen with the accused has been taken into custody by Bengaluru police and is being interrogated. Based on the footage, the police have intensified the search.

The stranger entered the shop making serious efforts to cover his face with a hat. He even ordered food and received it but restrained from eating it. Quickly then, he left the food untouched on the table and moved to the wash area where he abandoned the bag. The explosion took place in the cafe shortly after he left.

Ten people were injured in the blast. A case has been registered under the UAPA Act. The explosion occurred at 12.56 pm yesterday at the famous Rameswaram Cafe in Brookfield near Whitefield.
