CHENNAI: Music maestro Ilayaraja sent a legal notice to the makers of Ajith's film 'Good Bad Ugly', alleging that three of his songs were used in the film without consent. Ilayaraja demanded a compensation of Rs five crore and the removal of the songs from the film within seven days. Not agreeing to the terms would invite strong legal measures, warned the musician.
Ilayaraja is no stranger to controversies and has previously initiated action against moviemakers for using his songs without consent. The film Good Bad Ugly was released on April 10th. The film, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, has beaten all odds to emerge as the surprise winner of this Vishu season. The movie is surging in popularity, even in Kerala.
Ajith's last film, Vidaamuyarchi, had an overall collection of just Rs 136 crores. ‘Good Bad and Ugly’ surpassed this in just four days.
