PM to inaugurate 10-lane Mysuru-Bengaluru expressway on March 1, expected travel time of one and half hours

expressway

KANNUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 140-km 10-lane expressway on March 1, which will make the Mysuru-Bengaluru journey faster. Travel time will be reduced from three hours to one and a half hours. This will also eliminate the hours-long traffic jams on this route.

The expressway will be a boon for commuters, including students, who travel to Bangalore from districts north of Thrissur on a daily basis. The route from Mandya in Mysuru to Kenkeri is in a straight line of 75 km.

The inauguration is ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections scheduled to be held in May.

Kerala also hopes for development when the 10-lane road is opened. All the roads between Mysuru and Kerala have been given permission in principle to be given National Highway status. This will be conducive to development in tourism, trade and commerce in Kerala especially in North Malabar.
