
NEW DELHI: The Indian Railways has announced nine new Amrit Bharat train services, giving priority to states where elections are to be held soon. It was Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav who announced the new trains. However, the announcement has come as a disappointment for Kerala, as none of the nine new trains will operate through the state. Meanwhile, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have received multiple new services.
The new train services will include routes from Guwahati to Rohtak, Dibrugarh to Lucknow, and New Jalpaiguri to Tiruchirappalli and Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu. Additional services have been announced from Alipurduar to Bengaluru and Mumbai, and from Kolkata to Tambaram, Banaras and Anand Vihar.
