NEW DELHI: The Ayodhya administration has completely banned the sale and delivery of non-vegetarian food items within a 15-kilometre radius of the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The decision comes amid concerns that non-vegetarian food was being supplied through online platforms, despite an existing ban. The serving and sale of alcohol have also been prohibited.

Ayodhya Food Commissioner Manik Chandra Singh said that hotels, shops, and homestays have been instructed not to deliver non-vegetarian food items to residents through online platforms. He warned that strict action would be taken against those who violate the order. Online food delivery platforms have also been directed not to accept non-veg food orders within the restricted area.

Although alcohol is officially banned, liquor outlets are still operating along Ram Path in Ayodhya. Authorities are making efforts to shut down these outlets as well.
