CHENNAI: Actor Ranjith said that he wants to slap Vijay, actor and leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He criticized Vijay while participating in the Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations.

Vijay had said that Narendra Modi has deceived the Muslim people. Vijay sat with folded hands like a kitten to meet Modi in Coimbatore on April 16, 2016. Vijay forgot that and is now criticizing Modi harshly.

Vijay, who addresses the chief minister as Uncle, calls the Prime Minister Mr. Is this Vijay's political culture? Ranjith also clarified that he wants to slap him when he sees him in person.

Vijay, the president of TVK, entered active politics after quitting acting. He had recently announced that he would contest from Madurai East in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Vijay had made it clear at the second state conference of TVK held in Madurai that the ideological enemy is the BJP and the political enemy is DMK. He had also criticized the Prime Minister and Chief Minister M K Stalin in harsh language.
