NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has extended the deadline for Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to nominate a search committee for the appointment of vice chancellors in Kerala Technical University and Digital University. The time has been extended till Monday. The state government has informed the court that the list of experts is ready. The state government has prepared a list of ten people.
The Governor has informed the court that 20 names, including experts from IITs, have been shortlisted and time is needed to talk to them. The court had yesterday asked the governor and the government to suggest a panel to form a search committee. The Supreme Court heard the arguments on the VC appointment yesterday. The Supreme Court considered the plea filed by the Kerala government against the Governor. Kerala informed the court that there was no cooperation from the governor. The state informed that they tried their best to make him cooperate. However, the Attorney General told the court that there was no effort from the state government.
