NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will not interfere in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination (KEAM). The Supreme Court clarified that admission procedures to KEAM have not been stopped. The court informed that there is no change in this year's admission list and the case will be considered again within four weeks without blocking admission. The government had also clarified in the court that it will not file an appeal against the verdict of the high court division bench.
The Supreme Court had clarified the other day that they will not interfere in this year's KEAM procedures unless there are significant legal issues. The Supreme Court made this clarification while considering the petition filed by 12 students of the Kerala syllabus against the high court's cancellation of the rank list published after amending the prospectus. It does not doubt the change made by the Kerala government in the prospectus. However, the court had pointed that it should have been announced in advance when introducing the new policy.
Kerala clarified in the Supreme Court that they did not file an appeal to avoid problems for the students. The lawyer for the CBSE students had also argued that the formula was changed an hour before the rank list was announced and this was illegal.
