Sexually assaulted for nearly two months; police rescue 17-year-old girl from Karnataka

LUCKNOW: A 17-year-old girl abducted from Ubhavon village in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, has been rescued by police. The report submitted by the police stated that the girl, who had been taken to Karnataka, was sexually assaulted for nearly two months. The accused arrested in the case has been transferred to prison.

The girl went missing on the night of August 14. Following this, her family had alleged that she was abducted by a 20-year-old youth from the same village. Based on a complaint filed by the girl’s mother, police registered a case on September 11 under charges of abduction and attempt to force marriage.

Police rescued the girl on Tuesday near Bilthra Roadways. In her statement, the girl said the accused took her to Karnataka and repeatedly assaulted her for two months. The accused has been arrested, and a case has been registered under the POCSO Act and other sections.
