Sisters went together to take bath; found dead later

BENGALURU: Sisters found dead in bathroom in Mysuru. The dead have been identified as Gulfam Taj (23) and Simran Taj (20). The incident took place in Piriyapatna, Mysuru, on Saturday morning. Police said the sisters died due to inhaling poisonous gas from a geyser in the bathroom. The police said that there was a gas leak from the geyser, but there was no fire.

Relatives said that the two had gone to the bathroom together to get ready for a function. Their father broke down the door and entered when the two did not come out of the bathroom after a long time. Finding them unconscious, they were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared that they had died before reaching there. Police said that the bathroom did not have adequate ventilation.

Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, one person was killed and three others injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in K.R. Puram. The building collapsed following the explosion. Police said some nearby houses were also damaged in the blast. The injured were admitted to the hospital.
