Sorry, I’m drawing Rs 2.5 lakh monthly’; Satheesh consumes liquor of Rs 3000 daily

SHARJAH: More information has emerged in connection with the suicide of Athulya, a Malayali woman in Sharjah. Her family have come forward levelling serious allegations against her husband Satheesh Shankar. They held Satheesh responsible for her death.

Athulya got married at the age of 19. She was given gold of 48 sovereigns and a bike for Satheesh at the time of their marriage. Her relatives said that she was harassed for more dowry. He used to consume liquor of Rs 3000 daily.

He tortured her after getting drunk. Videos of him lifting a chair and trying to hit her had emerged. There were reports that Satheesh, an engineer was drawing a salary of Rs 2 lakh. Soon, he clarified that he is drawing Rs 2.5 lakh.

‘I have rented my house and I am not receiving the rent. A video that surfaced said that I am drawing Rs 2 lakh as salary. Sorry, I am getting Rs 2.5 lakh. I don’t even have Rs 1000 in my account. Anyone can check it. I am using my friend’s credit card.

I consume liquor. I drink on weekends. As said, I don’t drink daily. Being a diabetic, I cannot drink daily. I am taking insulin twice a day. Have anyone of you visited my mother. Why didn’t you go. Whenever she goes to my house, she will create problems and enters into a fight.
