NEW DELHI: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), a joint platform of banking organisations, will go on a nationwide strike on the 27th, demanding a reduction in the number of working days in the banking sector to five.
Bank services will be disrupted for four consecutive days, as Saturday, Sunday and Monday are holidays, and the strike is called on Tuesday. The UFBU is demanding a reduction in the number of working days to five, as there are alternative service platforms, including online banking and ATMs. The strike, called by the organisation on March 24 and 25, was withdrawn after the government assured it would consider the issue soon.
