CHENNAI: TVK president and superstar Vijay is likely to visit the families of those who died and those injured in the Karur tragedy on the 17th. There are also plans to resume Vijay's state tour after Diwali. Vijay will meet only the victims on the 17th, avoiding the crowds. TVK has decided to bring everyone to a public venue instead of visiting each house. It is learnt that the police have also accepted this. The venue has not been decided.
TVK has sought the support of the police to ensure a smooth and safe visit. Vijay will arrive in Tiruchirappalli by plane from Chennai and will reach Karur by road from there. The time of Vijay's arrival will not be announced in advance. This is to avoid crowding on the roadside. Police patrolling will be intensified, and traffic restrictions will be imposed if necessary. TVK has demanded police security within a radius of one kilometre from the venue. Police should check those entering the venue. Media access will be restricted during the meeting. Vijay has written a letter to the Tamil Nadu Police Chief requesting permission to visit Karur.
