CHENNAI: Following the Karur rally that led to the tragic death of 41 people, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president and actor Vijay is reportedly in severe mental distress. BJP leader Amar Prasad Reddy, in a post on X, made this revelation.

'I came to know that Vijay is not feeling well. Get well soon. I understand the mental stress you are going through. Please take care of your health' - Amar Prasad Reddy wrote on X.

Vijay, who was at his house in Panaiyur, moved to his other residence in Pattinapakkam this morning. This is where TVK's second office is functioning. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi had called Vijay on the phone and sought information.

Meanwhile, Tamil actress Vinodhini shared a heartfelt note asking why Vijay left films and joined politics. Vinodhini requested people not to hate Vijay and stop politicising the tragic incident in Karur.

'I like Vijay sir as an actor. I have acted with him in the film 'Jilla'. I don't know how you will deal with what happened in Karur. I don't agree with many of his party's ideologies, so I won't say anything on that. However, as a gentle, soft-spoken and kind person, he must have been really devastated by the deaths of so many innocent people. Please don't politicise this situation, '- Vinodhini wrote.
