Woman molested publicly, witnesses capture video instead of reacting

BHOPAL: A young woman was molested on a busy road in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Instead of rescuing the victim, witnesses filmed the sexual assault on their phones and posted the video on social media. The video went viral very quickly. Police later arrested accused Lokesh.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon at Koila Phatak, one of the busiest intersections in the city. It was here that the victim, who was looking for livelihood, met the accused Lokesh. Lokesh tried to tempt the girl by saying that he would marry her.

When she did not give in, he forced her to drink alcohol and took her to the roadside and molested her. All those who saw it captured video of the incident. After molesting the woman, the accused escaped from the spot. The police registered a case based on the statement given by the victim and identified the accused through the video.

The opposition blamed the BJP government for the deteriorating law and order situation. The video has been released through the official X account of 'Madhya Pradesh Congress'. The video has been posted with the caption 'The holy city of Ujjain has been put to shame again. Shameless rulers should resign or die'.
