JODHPUR: In a bizarre incident, a school teacher set her ablaze along with her three-year-old daughter in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. The dead are Sanju Bishnoi (32) and her daughter Yashasvi. The police have registered a case against her husband Dileep Bishnoi and his parents following the incident.
The incident happened last Friday, but the news came to light only now. Sanju, who returned from school in the evening, sat on a chair with her daughter and then poured petrol on herself and set ablaze. There was no one at home at the time of the incident. Seeing smoke emanating, the neighbors informed the family. The fire was extinguished, but the baby had lost her life. Sanju, who suffered serious burns, died Saturday morning while undergoing treatment.
Police and forensic experts visited the house and inspected it. The teacher's suicide note was also recovered from the house. The note levelled serious dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws. The note also blamed her sister-in-law and one Ganpat Singh for harassing her. The police have started an investigation to find them.
Meanwhile, there was an argument between the woman's family and her in-laws over the burial of the two. When the body was being collected after the postmortem, both families came demanding to hand over the body to them. Finally, the bodies were handed over to the woman's family.
