Young software engineer runs car over bike rider for not giving space, arrested

BENGALURU: A young man, enraged by a vehicle not giving way, tried to kill a bike rider and a woman by running his vehicle over them. The police arrested Sukritkesava Gowda (23), a native of Kodigehalli, in the incident. The young man is a software engineer at a company in Bengaluru.

The incident took place last month on Bel Road in Bengaluru. It is reported that an argument ensued between the youngster and the person on the bike over not giving space. The enraged young man then rammed into the bike. CCTV footage of the incident was released. The accused told the police that the car honked several times, but the biker did not give way. After hitting the bike purposefully, the car fled the spot.

The woman, who was pillion on the bike, sustained injuries to her arm, shoulder and head. The man riding the bike was also injured. They were immediately taken to the hospital and treated. The police arrested the accused after examining CCTV footage.
