Bail for accused in school shooting incident; accused to be transferred to mental health facility

THRISSUR: Jagan, the accused in the case of creating a terror atmosphere in a school by firing an airgun, has been granted bail. The suspect will be transferred to a mental health center based on the police report. The family of the man stated that he has been facing mental problems for the past three years. The police also informed that the medical records of the accused have been produced.

Jagan, an alumnus, fired shots after creating an atmosphere of terror at Vivekodayam School in Thrissur. After reaching the staff rooms and threatening the teachers, he entered the Plus Two classes and fired the gun. He studied at the same school two years ago. Teachers say that he has been a troublemaker since then.

There have been incidents where he used foul language at his teachers while he studied here. The teachers also stated that he left the school without even taking the exam. He entered the classroom while the teacher was taking class and closed the door. When the teacher inquired what was the matter, he said he was looking for another teacher who was teaching at the school. He asked which class that teacher was in.

Mistaking the incident for a prank, the students laughed at this point. According to the teacher, he took a gun and shot upwards after this. After the incident, the children were all in a state of fear. He entered other classes and fired the gun after leaving this class. Later, the school staff subdued him and handed him over to the police.
