KASARGOD: The Kumbala police brutally thrashed a 17-year-old boy for capturing the visuals of the police attacking the locals. The incident happened at Mogral in Kasargod. There are also complaints that attempts are there to implicate the boy and his parents, who had come to the station to file a complaint, in the case.

The incident related to the case happened on October 17. The Kumbala police arrived when an argument during the Kalolsavam escalated into a fight. However, the police also beat up locals who had nothing to do with the incident. The 17-year-old and his friends filmed the footage. It is alleged that the police, who noticed the footage being filmed, beat the children with lathi.

The injured 17-year-old was admitted to the hospital by a relative. The hospital authorities informed the police. The boy and his parents reached the station after they were summoned. The family thought that they were called to record their statement. However, the family alleged that they were trying to frame the 17-year-old and his friends in a fake case by calling them on the pretext of signing a complaint at the police station.

The visuals of the police taking the 17-year-old and his friends from the shop has emerged. The boy's family has filed a complaint with the chief minister, the district police chief and the human rights commission.
