Commits theft using pepper spray in Kochi; brothers steal chains worth Rs 8000 kept for model

KOCHI: The visuals of youths stealing after using pepper spray at an employee at a jewellery shop in Kalamassery, have emerged. The incident happened last Monday. Thomas and Mathew of Malappuram, who were behind the theft, have been taken into custody. They are brothers. The accused stole chains worth Rs 8,000 kept for a model, thinking they were gold.

Thomas entered the jewellery shop and committed the theft. After committing the crime, the two fled to Palakkad on a bike. Reports say Thomas and Mathew regularly commit thefts in Edappally and Kalamassery areas. The Kalamassery police said that their arrest will be recorded and will be produced in the court today.
