CPM worker, DYFI leader arrested with 46 grams of MDMA

THIRUVALLA: CPM worker and DYFI leader arrested with 46 grams of MDMA. Akhilraj (28) and Ananthu (26), natives of Adoor, Elamannoor, were arrested from the Thiruvalla bus stand early yesterday morning. The arrest was under the leadership of Thiruvalla SHO K.S. Sujith.

Akhilraj is the DYFI Elamannoor regional secretary and a member of the CPM Poothamkara East branch. They were working as carriers for gangs selling MDMA from other states. An investigation team was formed under the supervision of District Narcotics Cell DySP K.S. Prakash and Thiruvalla DySP T.R. Jiju based on the confidential information received by the District Police Chief. The investigation team was monitoring Akhilraj and Ananthu.

The accused were arrested by a team of Sub-Inspectors Dhanya and R Ajikumar, and members of the District DANSAF Team and the Thiruvalla DANSAF Special Squad, Sujith, Mithun, Sriraj, Binu, Jithin, Akhilesh, Avinash, and Tojo.
