Drove vehicle under influence and caused accident; arrested Excise driver suspended

KOZHIKODE: An Excise driver, who was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, has been suspended from service. Feroke native Edison K Jay has been suspended pending investigation. The incident related to the case took place at around 7 pm on Sunday.

The Excise vehicle from the Feroke Range Office, driven by Edison, had crashed into a divider. Following this, locals intervened and stopped both the driver and the vehicle. The police subsequently took him into custody, recorded his arrest and later released him on bail. He has been charged with drunken driving and reckless handling of a vehicle.
