KOCHI: The producers of the Manjummal Boys have suffered a setback in the financial fraud case. The Kerala High Court rejected the producers' request to quash the case. The court rejected the pleas of Shawn Antony, actor Soubin Shahir and his father Babu Shahir. The court also clarified that the police can continue with the investigation in the case.

The police registered a case on the complaint of Maradu native Siraj Valiyathara that he was not given the profit share of the film. However, the accused argued that Siraj did not pay the money on time and due to that, they suffered huge losses. The producers also claimed that as the money was not given on time, shoot schedules were disrupted and shooting prolonged.

Manjummal Boys was a hit film that grossed Rs 200 crore. The film, directed by Chidambaram, received great attention both inside and outside Kerala. The film was released on February 22, 2024.
