Five Keralites arrested for Rs 4.5 crore highway robbery in Kancheepuram

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu police arrested five Malayalees for a major theft on the highway in Kancheepuram. The police arrested Santhosh, Sujith Lal, Jayan, Murukan and Kunju Muhammed, residents of Kollam, Palakkad and Thrissur. They were arrested for intercepting a car and looting Rs 4.5 crore.

The police said the arrested are the main members of an interstate theft gang. Efforts are on to find the other 10 members of the gang. The Kancheepuram police have left to Kerala for it. The theft took place after stopping the car of a Mumbai native.
