THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Parasala SHO CI Anil Kumar's anticipatory bail application has been rejected in the case of killing an elderly man by hitting him with a vehicle in Kilimanoor. The order is from the Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court. The CI was suspended in connection with the case. Anil Kumar had fled the scene without stopping the car after the accident, but was identified from the CCTV footage. A case has been registered against him for recklessly causing an accident by speeding and failing to stop the vehicle.

Anil Kumar's vehicle hit and killed a man named Rajan on September 7. The police officer had initially confessed to the crime in the incident. The CI had said that a man had hit the side of the vehicle and then got up and walked away. Anil Kumar has been charged with a crime that carries a sentence of up to ten years.

Anil Kumar left Parasala station without the permission of his superiors and went to his house in Thattathumala on the day of the incident. It is reported that he did not stop even after the accident because he left without permission. The car, which was kept in the workshop to destroy evidence after the accident, was taken into custody by the Kilimanoor police.

Rajan, a native of Cheenikuzhi, Kilimanoor, was killed when Anil Kumar's speeding vehicle hit him. Rajan lay bleeding on the road for half an hour. He was dead by the time he was taken to the hospital.
