THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court has found two accused in the R J Rajesh murder case, guilty. The Thiruvananthapuram First Class Additional Sessions Court convicted the second accused Muhammed Swalih and the third accused Appunni. Their quantum of sentence will be pronounced on Wednesday.
Four to twelve accused in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence. Rajesh, a former radio jockey of Asha Bhavan in Madavoor, was killed on March 27 in 2018. He was hacked to death by a quotation team. Rajesh's friend also sustained injuries in the incident.
Abdul Sathar, a non-resident businessman is the first accused in the case. The investigation team has not been able to find him yet. Rajesh had earlier worked in Qatar. Rajesh had an illicit relationship with Sathar’s wife then. Following the relationship, Sathar severed ties with his wife and this anger led to the murder. Second accused Muhammed Swalih is Sathar’s employee. Sathar arrived in Kerala to commit the crime and hired a quotation team to commit the act.
