KSEB employee who came to replace electricity meter attacked; hit on head with iron rod and jeep slammed into bike

CHITTARIKKAL (KASARAGOD): Attempt to kill the KSEB contract employee, who replaced electricity meter, by hitting him on the head and with a jeep. The incident took place in Kattamkavala, Chittarikkal. Arun Kumar, who was seriously injured in the attack, was admitted to the Kanhangad district hospital. Arun Kumar was attacked by Joseph and his son Santosh.

Anish, the employee who was with Arunkumar, escaped as he took a step back. Arun Kumar and Anish had come to replace the damaged meter at Joseph's house as per instructions from the KSEB Nallompuzha Section Office. Joseph was not at home at this time. Arunkumar replaced the meter after telling the women and children who were there. Joseph's son Santosh hit Arunkumar's bike with a jeep as Arunkumar came down to the road after replacing the meter.

Joseph hit Arun with an iron rod as he fell. Arunkumar's nose and ears were broken in the attack. The bike was also damaged in the impact of the jeep. The house owner took Arunkumar's mobile phone also. Both of them had reached Joseph's house after replacing the damaged meters in other houses in the area. Chittarikkal police registered a case and started an investigation.
