KOCHI: A Madhya Pradesh Police team that arrived in Kochi to take into custody the viral Kumbh Mela star and her husband, Mohammed Farman, returned empty-handed. The team left Kerala after the husband informed them that his wife is pregnant and cannot appear before the police immediately. The team, which reached Kochi on March 17, was unable to locate the couple. Efforts to trace their friend Joshua, who allegedly helped them, also failed.
Mohammed Farman informed a woman sub-inspector from Khargone about his wife’s pregnancy. The couple got married on March 11 at a temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Soon after, the girl’s father filed a complaint in Madhya Pradesh, claiming that she is only 16 years old. A POCSO case was then registered against Mohammed Farman. However, the girl has stated that she is an adult.
When the Madhya Pradesh Police reached Kochi, the girl sought protection by writing to the Chief Minister and the Kochi City Police. Meanwhile, an order by the Kerala High Court, which barred the arrest of Mohammed Farman until April 20, also prevented further action by the police.
