Man kills younger brother in drunken brawl in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A 32-year-old youth killed his younger brother by hitting him on his head. The incident happened at Anandapuram in Thrissur. The dead is Yadu Krishnan (29) of Korattikattil. The accused is Vishnu.

The incident happened at a toddy shop in Anandapuram at around 7.30 pm last night. A verbal dispute broke out and this resulted in a fight. In the meantime, Vishnu hit Yadu on the head with a lethal weapon. Yadu was immediately taken to the hospital but died at around 11 pm.

Although Vishnu escaped after the incident, the Puthukkad police took him into custody from a nearby Ayurveda hospital. Vishnu sustained injuries on his neck. The accused, who developed uneasiness while bringing him to the police station, has been admitted to the Puthukkad Taluk Hospital. He will be taken to the station soon. There was a dispute over property between the two.
