Man murders bedridden wife in Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: A man murdered his bedridden wife in the district. The incident happened at Manthadikkavala near Kidangoor in Kottayam. The dead is Elakkodath Ramani aged 70. Her husband Soman (74) has been taken into custody.

Police said Soman strangled his wife to death early Saturday morning at 1.30 am. The couple and their two sons were at home. One of the couple’s sons is differently disabled. The eldest son woke up hearing a noise and then came to know about the murder. Soman told police that he wanted to kill his wife and differently disabled son and then end his life.
