Man wakes up brother from sleep, hacks him to death; later surrenders in station

MANJERI: A man hacked his younger brother to death at Pallimukku, Pookkottur in Malappuram. The dead is Ameer (24), son of Kollaparamban Abbas. Ameer’s brother Junaid aged 26 surrendered before the police. The incident happened Tuesday morning at 4.30 am. Financial issues are cited to be the reason for the murder.

Junaid hacked his brother on his neck after waking him up from his sleep. Ameer died on the spot itself. Their mother and sister were at home at the time of the incident. After committing the murder, Junaid went to the Manjeri police station on his scooter and surrendered. The police have started an investigation.
