Minor girl gives birth, she turned 18, says family, case against relative after truth comes to light

KOCHI: A minor girl gave birth to a baby in Fort Kochi. The girl gave birth to a baby on July 23 at the Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital. When she was admitted in the hospital, her family said that she had turned 18.

As it was a normal delivery, she was discharged after two days. However, the truth came to light when the girl’s Aadhar card was checked for the baby’s birth registration. When it was understood that the girl was only 17 years old, the hospital authorities immediately informed the Palluruthy police.

An investigation conducted found that the girl was impregnated by her relative. He is a native of Fort Kochi. The marriage of the two been fixed.
