One more held in minor boy’s sexual assault case

KASARGOD: One more person has been arrested in the case of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy after befriending him via a dating app. The arrested is Ajilal. Three more are still absconding. A search for them is on.

Aluminum fabrication worker C Girish (50), assistant educational officer V K Sainuddin (52) from Padanna, Sukesh (30) from Vellachal, Raees (30) from Thrikaripur North Koval, Kunjahammed Haji (55) from Valvakkad, T K Afzal (23) from Chandera, Shijith (36) from Cheemeni, Ramzan (64) from Padanna, Narayanan (60) from Cheemeni, and Chitraraj (48) from Pilicode were arrested earlier.

The police found that the accused had no previous connection with other similar crimes and no one had acted as an intermediary. The statement of the victim is the main evidence in the Chandera sexual assault case.

This is the first case of sexual exploitation of a minor child using a dating app in the state. Personal details or documents are not required to enter the app. The app is set up so that anyone with a mobile phone can download it from Google and install it. All you need to do is certify that you are 18.
