POCSO case accused held for misbehaving with pregnant woman

IDUKKI: The police arrested a youth for misbehaving with a woman in the hospital. The accused, involved in a POCSO case, committed the attack late last night. The accused identified as Manoj tried to grab the pregnant woman admitted at Munnar High Range Hospital. The accused fled when the woman created an uproar.

The police then arrested Manoj based on the CCTV visuals. Manoj arrested in a case of abusing a minor girl last year, was released on bail recently.

Meantime, an elderly man who sexually assaulted and tortured a ten-year-old girl at Nadapuram in Kozhikode was sentenced to 79 years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 1,12,000. Balan (79) was convicted by Nadapuram Fast Track Special Court.
